SIGNAGE, LINE STRIPING, THERMOPLASTIC & TRAFFIC FLOW MARKINGS

When customers arrive, they notice how well the building’s exterior is cared for.  It reflects your customer service and how you conduct business.  Customers and clients want to do business with a company that looks clean, appears inviting, and cares about their safety.  An economical way to keep the exterior of your business looking fresh is to re-stripe your parking lot annually or every 18 months.  This enhances your customers safety, reduces your liability,  and maintains compliance with ADA requirements.  Re-striping your asphalt may even save you money by reducing accidents, maximizing parking, and enhancing the ease of safely navigating your parking lot. Additionally, re-striping helps keep fire lanes and handicap parking areas clearly visible.  If you need a reflective finish, glass beads may be added to the normal traffic paint during application to increase night time visibility.

Thermoplastic

We also apply thermoplastic markings.  Thermoplastic is mainly used in the right-of-way areas with high traffic volumes.  Several common examples are stop bars, crosswalks, and turn arrows.  Thermoplastic Road Striping has dominated the traffic marking industry for decades.  It is very durable, long wearing and reflective. It is the product of choice for almost every municipality in the United States. Thermoplastic striping will outlast paint by many times making it a very cost effective traffic delineation solution.

Thermoplastic is a plastic material made of binder, pigments, filler, and glass beads. The pigment creates the color, glass beads increase retro-reflectivity, and the filler adds bulk. The binder is what makes the material tough, flexible, and creates the bond strength to adhere to the pavement surface while holding the other components together.  Thermoplastic is applied in a liquid form at temperatures exceeding 400 degrees.  Thermoplastic can be applied to asphalt or concrete surfaces.  The resins in the thermoplastic bond or "burn in" to the pavement surface. The material dries and cools quickly, allowing roads and parking lots to be open to traffic sooner.

We are proud to offer thermoplastic services to our growing list of clients.  We look forward to meeting with you to discuss your thermoplastic marking needs.

The following checklist produced by Liberty Mutual Insurance can assist you in some economical ways to reduce your liability as a property owner and highlights why it is important that you do not neglect your parking lot markings and signage.

Lot Markings/Signage

  • Parking blocks are anchored to the pavement, maintained properly, and clearly marked with high-visibility paint, preferably “safety yellow.”

  • All parking lot striping, pedestrian crosswalks, traffic directions, and curb warnings are easily visible and well-maintained, even in inclement weather.

  • Curb cuts, wheelchair ramps, and shopping cart ramps are clearly marked, and thresholds provide a clean transition between surfaces and elevations.

  • Stanchions, light posts, and other uprights are clearly marked with high-visibility paint.

  • Traffic signage is well-placed, in good repair, stable, and does not pose a hazard to the public.

  • Special areas (e.g., pick-up/delivery zones, access routes) are designated by lines or directional arrows that are well-marked and prominent.

  • Signs, utility poles, meters, power transformers, and fire hydrants are well-marked and protected.
